Makeover: From Cruella to Foxy

Posted on Posted in Hair & Beauty

We all know Cruella De Vil and her special black´n´blonde hair from the Disney animated film, One Hundred and One Dalmatians. The wealthy, fashion-obsessed heiress who wished to use the skins of 99 Dalmatian puppies for a fur coat.

With her centre parted, mad-as-a-bat hair, Cruella de Vil isn’t the first person that springs to mind as a fashion icon. Cruella De Vils hair style has yet been an inspiration to many ladies in the last years.

Ida-Sofia had given Cruella look a try herself, even her boyfriend had helped her dye the hair. The hair was brittle and blonde on the other side, pitch black at the ends and various brown tones in between. She also had couple of inches of root growth with her natural color.

This beautiful bella wanted to try something different this time and seek the help of a professional hair stylist. Together we decided to give her a makeover in both color and cut. Here is what happened next.

The starting point. Self made Cruella De Vil-inspired hair style
I applied bleach with 12% oxidizer and olaplex in very thin slices.
The brown and black area was covered in foils. It took nearly 90 minutes to apply the bleach in every single hair that was darker than the blond area.
Making magic happen. After I washed the bleach off, I toned the hair with Luxima to pre-pigment the blond area and to even out the different warm tones of the bleached area. Then I gave the hair a quick blow dry and dyed the roots. After this I added more flame like tones to the ends.
Six hours later we were done. The final result is a softer more feminine but still has the cool edge of a future fashion designer.
